10 /: Each person of African descent who would consider himself or herself seriously concerned
about the plight of African (Black) people must commit a minimum of ten (10) hours each month
to a community based organization or institution concerned with the uplift and improvement of our
people. This means dedicating yourself to the excellent performance of your chosen organization
or institution and helping to make your chosen organization or institution the very best that it can
be. – We must build strong organizations and institutions --- none of us are justified sitting
on the sideline complaining about what others are not doing.
10 /: Commit a minimum of $10 every month to help fund your chosen organization or institution.
Make a conscious effort to choose an organization or institution that needs your help.
50 /: Transfer or redirect, at a minimum, an additional $50 from your monthly budget to support
African (Black) owned businesses and their products and services. $50 a month should not be
the total you spend, but use your creativity to find ways to commit an additional $50 each month.
– Make it known to these businesses that you support 10-10-50. Demand that they give good
service and that they reinvest in our community.
+ IMANI (Faith): Have faith that proper leadership and systems are being developed to
facilitate the necessary cooperation between our organizations and institutions. – A truly dynamic
and functional unity is required among our people, and that is what we are building.

PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW:
PURPOSE
The purpose of 10-10-50 is to spark and stimulate power building activity by a large segment of
the African (Black) Community in America and beyond.
The African Community, our community, suffers greatly from a lack of investment and support
from us, its members. Far too much of our attention, time, energy, money and spirit is directed at
and absorbed by institutions and interest outside of our community. We unknowingly strengthen
others and their vital institutions, while giving little thought and effort to our institutional and
people development.
The framers of 10-10-50 take the strong position that we alone bear responsibility for the safety
and welfare of our people. It is insane and extremely dangerous to depend on entities outside of
us for anything vital to our self interest. Such dependency is the mark of a subservient and
defeated people. Such is the nature of our recent past, but not of our sober future. We now know
better and we are building a new reality.
The three simple points or steps of 10-10-50 practiced by tens of thousands and millions of our
people in America and in other countries and territories changes forever our relationship with
ourselves and with all others. Almost any mature member of our community can successfully
execute each point or step of 10-10-50. It’s a simple and easy process. It’s also an extremely
powerful process when practiced by a sufficient number of our people.
The bottom line and the ultimate deciding factor is what “YOU” will do. You are reading this for
yourself and you must decide for yourself if you are in, or out. As you continue to read here and
contemplate your response, be challenged to stand tall and be true to what you consider in our
best interest. If you view 10-10-50 as positive and an aid to our progress, commit and become an
army of one. Practice 10-10-50 and encourage others to do the same.
OVERVIEW:
Copies of 10-10-50 are being distributed to millions of our people in America and beyond. 10-10-
50 will become a popular slogan and symbol of our renewed effort to empower our communities
globally. The 10-10-50.org website will serve as the coordinating element for this campaign. As
the site grows, we will list and categorize organizations and businesses that have been
recommended for recognition and support. We are starting in Atlanta, but we will quickly grow to
other cities and communities. We will compile the most comprehensive listing of organizations,
institutions and businesses serving the African (Black) Community. We will initiate campaigns to
spark specific development and support.
All elements of this 10-10-50 flyer will remain the same with the exception of the sponsor
information at the very bottom of the reverse side. The organization, institution or business
shown as the local sponsor is a vital part of the 10-10-50 campaign and deserves your
strong support.
